In the first few years the company concentrated mostly on low cost housing projects as well as its own developments, notably An Der Mole and Molenzicht apartments in Swakopmund. After Independence and with the new demand for public buildings Van Wyngaarden Building Co constructed many large government projects, most notably being The Windhoek High Court, Archives and Library, Institute of Special Education, Polyechnic’s Engineering Blocks and Auditoriums, Eros Control Tower and Khomas Regional Centre Headquarters. At the same time many private contracts were completed such as Pupkewitz Megabuild, Eagle Rock & Trails apartments, Neo Paints, Geka Pharma, Nampharm and the Indonesian Embassy.
Van Wyngaarden Projects at the same time as general contracting also completed many of its own developments, such as Newcastle & Rosch Industrial Parks, Club Motors (now Danric), River Terrace, Bridge Terrace, The Fields (all Sectional Title Townhouses), Prosperita Business Park and most recently the prestigious 6500 m2 Ausspann Plaza Office Park. The company employed in excess of 150 people and was one of the largest and most respected privately owned construction companies in Namibia.
